Introduction:
The Greeks were not the authors of Greek Philosophy, but the people of North Africa, commonly called the Egyptians.
We are told in the Western world that, the highest form of civilization is "Western," that this western civilization is the independent product of Western genius; that the world waited in darkness until Western Europe brought the light, and in some cases that the light which Western Europe brought was too advanced for some of the world's people.
One must remember Napoleon's dictum that "history is a fable agreed upon." This particular fable, the fable that there is an uncontaminated Western civilization, has served to support colonial expansion, slavery, and later, racism and oppression throughout the world. Even today, minds are still not free of this yoke.
In Stolen legacy, the questions which are pursued are so straight forward and parsimonious, one wonders why have they not been asked before in this combination. Who were the Greek scholars? Where did they go to school? What did they learn in school? How old was the subject matter which they learned? Who were their teachers? How did what they learn fit with the contemporary Greek world view? How were they received at home when they completed their education? How were they regarded by their teachers?
No true answer to these questions can leave intact the notion of the "immaculate conception of Western civilization." Clearly, the Egyptian / African origin of much of Greek and other European civilization - cannot be denied.
In short, we must recall here the burning of the Egyptian Ethiopian Library at Alexandria, The Inquisition, and the many book burnings in history. What was in the books which were burned?
Does it matter, contrary to contemporaneous teaching: ·That "man know thyself" was not original with Socrates but was common among Egyptian teachers? ·That Plato's four cardinal virtues were copied from the Egyptian mysteries? ·That grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, music, astronomy were Egyptian "liberal arts" copied by Greeks? ·That whole Greek faculties and student bodies moved to Egypt to be taught by Egyptians and to learn from their libraries? ·That Greek philosophers were not welcome at home? ·That Greeks began going to Egypt for education around 525 B.C.? ·That some of Plato's material comes from the 5,000 year old Egyptian Book of the Dead? ·That the 4,000 year old Memphite Theology is the source of much Greek thought?
Would African American children in schools be interested in this as well as in the description of the Egyptians by the Greek Herodotus, the "father of history," when he described the people he saw in Egypt as, "burnt skinned, flat nosed, thick lipped, and wooly haired."
We can at once see how easy it was for an ambitious and even envious nation to claim a body of unwritten knowledge which would make them great in the eyes of the primitive world. There is no wonder then, that the production of the unusually large number of books ascribed to Aristotle has proved a physical impossibility, for any single man within a life time.
The Egyptian Mystery System was the first secret Order of History and the publication of its teachings was strictly prohibited. This explains why Initiates like Socrates did not commit to writing their philosophy, and why the Babylonians and Chaldaeans who were closely associated with them also refrained from publishing those teachings.
After nearly five thousand years of prohibition against the Greeks, they were permitted to enter Egypt for the purpose of their education. First through the Persian invasion and secondly through the invasion of Alexander the Destroyer (Great), the Royal temples and libraries were plundered and pillaged, and Aristotle's schools converted the library at Alexandria into a research centre.
Greek philosophy is somewhat of a drama, whose chief actors were Alexander the Destroyer (Great), Aristotle and his successors in the peripatetic school, and the Roman Emperor Justinian. Alexander invaded Egypt and captured the Royal Library at Alexandria and plundered it. Aristotle made a library of his own with plundered books, while his school occupied the building and used it as a research centre.
Finally, Justinian the Roman Emperor abolished the Temples and schools of philosophy i.e. another name for the Egyptian Mysteries which the Greeks claimed as their product, and on account of which, they have been falsely praised and honored for centuries by the world, as its greatest philosophers and thinkers. This contribution to civilization was really and truly made by the Egyptians and the African continent, but not by the Greeks or the European Continent.
It is indeed surprising how, for centuries, the Greeks have been praised by the Western world for intellectual accomplishments which belong without a doubt to the Egyptians or the peoples of North Africa.
This unfortunate position of the African Continent and its peoples appears to be the result of misrepresentation upon which the structure of race prejudice has been built.
Mental slavery continues to this present day. This slavery affects the minds of all people and, in one way, it is worse than physical slavery alone. That is, the person who is in mental bondage will be "self-contained." Mental bondage is invisible violence.
Not only will that person fail to challenge beliefs and patterns of thought which control him/her, he will defend and protect those beliefs and patterns of thought virtually with his last dying effort.
